Dear Bob:
I didn’t write last nite [sic] honey, because for some reason or another I didn’t feel so good after I had eaten my supper. Daddy didn’t either. I guess it was the sauerKraut [sic], we had a letter from Gloria & one from N.J. also enclosed in Glorias [sic] letters was a page of scribbling from Larry Ray- I’ll send them to you. I know you’ll be glad to hear from them you can send them on to Kenney if you feel like it. I certainly hope by now your beginning to feel better, of course I know how it is, with one arm in asplint [sic] or what have you & your rite [sic] one at that- its probably hard for you to write & besides more than that you probably don’t feel like writing- but just keep your chin up son. You’ll be alrite [sic] soon & back in the States I hope & soon_ Maybe you’ll be like this Pylkington Boy- he had thirty days & was to spend that much time at home & return to Fitgammons [sic] Hospital in Denver- upon returning the Hospital was full so they extended his stay another thirty days. he [sic] probably is getting along alrite [sic] & is just as well off there as any where-. Bob do you remember Mr. Wilmeth- he lived across the st. [sic] anyway he was killed in Germany he left a wife & three Babies [sic]- they were terribly hard up- and it surely is too bad. I went to club today over to Della’s. had [sic] pretty good cards- but couldn’t have the prize as I have had it twice this time around & that is all were allowed to have it during one time around the club. this [sic] gives all a chance at it-Do you have any cards in which to play with it mite be alrite [sic] to play a little bridge & pass away some time. what [sic] do you think- or can you use your arm that much. -----here I go again whill [sic]----
[2]
Daddy got homesick for Larry Ray & called Gloria the other nite_they were moving into a little cabin, she said Larry Ray was really having a time exploring everything – he seemed to sense they were in a new place- Gloria says he seems to understand something is wrong when she mention your being hurt-
We certainly having [sic] the darndest weather it is really cold- & nothing grows well- its just too cold & rainy- they said it was snowing in Nebraska- Mrs. Branson brought Betty’s baby to club today he even looks like Betty I think he was real good tho [sic]. Frank Branson thinks he’s O.K. we had some pictures Gloria sent to us & told us to send on to Kenney said she had sent you a set- [sic] Most of them were taken while we were in L.A- or enroute [sic] home from there some were taken at the Park [sic] at [youa beiz]. We Ida received Ruff called today & said she had a letter from Eugene today saying he & you had finally gotten together & had quite a visit- that of course was before your accident & the first thing I did was to have Ida send Eugene your Hospital address as I thot [sic] he could look you up- as he may be coming home soon & could tell us just how you are getting along. also [sic] he mite [sic] write to us & tell us all about you. We haven’t heard from Kenney sine I wrote you last & sent his letter- will let you know as soon as I can hear from him- so don’t worry, at least he’s going to a Base so it isn’t like he was going to invade some Island- They heard from Chet & he was being sent to a rest Camp- thot [sic] Australia- of course I am only guessing- also Bobby Jeanne still in the Hospital, but able to be up & about- they’re just getting him rested to see if he can finish his missions- the last we heard of Bud S. he had completed several missions__. Well son so much for this. I hope this finds you feeling much better & able to be about. Good Luck and Goodnnite [sic]-
Love –Mom-
