To: Folks 1945_3_24 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 3/24/1945 New Guiena March-24-45 Dear Folk’s: Haven’t written to you for the past few days so will try to say a few words now to let you know that I am getting along OK and feeling just fine hoping this finds all of you the same, received a letter from Chet D. today and was really glad to hear from him, he is getting along OK now, and he really feels bad about [Glenn H.], I guess everyone who knew Glenn will regret it for a long time to come, I know I will, as he was really a swell fellow, and I liked him very much, don’t know how his wife will be able to get along but tha [sic] is just one of those things that makes war what it is, if ever I get a chance, I Page -2- I will do my best to see that these – japs (rats) pay to the fullest extent for boys like shorty. I have seen some of their work and believe me when I say they are not human I mean it, but they won’t ever get a chance to frome [sic] that to me so don’t worry. I received the other pair of horse shoes today, and we had a hot game, I am a little rusty but will get plenty of practice so I can win that game that Dad wants to play when I get home, so he had better get some practice himself, as I hope we will be home before too long. I planted the seeds and they sprouted in 2 days they are about 1” tall already well I will say so long now. Love, Ke____
