To: Dad 1943_11_4 From: Kenney [3 page letter] Date: 11-4-1943 Dear Dad: 11-4-43 I have a few spare minutes so I thought I would drop you a line, I received your letter last night, if today is my third day of Bivouac. I don’t have to tell you how I like it as you can know yourself how it is sleeping in a pup tent, and on the ground practically it is kind of fun but it is not what I expected, we have air raids all the time and gas attack’s, we have chow the same & we also have rations & tonight we have a night problem so if I get the chance this afternoon I am going to “goldbrick” all I can you said in your letter over that I could call or wire you if I get a furlough, well, that would be ok. if I had time but if I get a furlough everyone else will get one almost so the b guy that has the money with him can go to the bus stop and then to Abilene, and won’t have to wait on a wire it would take 3 hours for me to wire you and so I would loose about 6 or 7 hours at the least so you can see how much I would like to have you send Page 2 the money, so if I get a furlough I can be on my way home, as soon as possible, well I got a letter from Ethel so I will try to answer it, so let me hear from you soon with love Kenney
