To: Dad 1943_10_11 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 10-11-1943 Dear Dad: 10-11-43 Well I rec. [sic] a letter from Mom today and she sent me a foot print of Jr. and also a hand print, they sure are small, she also said she was going to try and leave for home as soon as possible so you won’t have to batch for so long now. I hope you went out and tried [sic] your luck at the long tailed birds, and when I get home I am going to try my luck, and so is Ernie & if we get one of those few and far between furloughs? but if I don’t get one here I sill hoves have one coming at the end of the first 6 mo. I believe I told you that I rec. [sic] your mo. [money order] if I don’t need it I will cash it and then go to the post office and take out Over another M.o. [money order] and send it back to you. Well another day has passed by & it makes one less to worry about for me I hope you have good luck on your parlay cards this week and especially if you can win what you did last week. Ernie said he couldn’t see how you ever picked them as they were pretty tough. Well so long for now Dad. Love Kenney I will send a picture I just had taken it isn’t very good, try to do better next time. K.
