Dear folk’s:
Well I just got back from that 16 mile hike and I feel fine, it was nice and cool this morning, when we got back we got paid I got $6.75 and $2.75 off of that for my pictures then $1.00 from it again for the Red Cross so I came out finally with $3.00 for a pay check, not bad, but my allotment & bonds are also taken out plus insurance and laundry. Let me know how much the allotment money is if you have it yet you should get it the 1st of Sept. They sure are sending a lot of men back home, all the limited service men were put on

a medical discharge, none of us Russell boys here are on limited service so we are all still together. My watch really comes in handy. Well mom you can do as you like with the allotment as I took it out for you. Tell dad to take a quarter of it and see if he can’t hit the jack pot. I will split with him, also tell Dan & Billy Mc. and all hello for me. I must close for now as it is chow time and I am plenty hungry. Thank’s again for the package mom it was really swell.
