Title:
Kenneth Dole to Folks and Sis
Date:
1945-03-14
Description:
To: Folks and Sis 1945_3_14 From: Kenney, K. [3 page letter] Date: 3-14-1945 New Guiena March -14 Dear Folk’s & Sis: Received your letter today dated the 2nd March, only 12 days to bad time, also your St. Patrick’s day card, I had forgotten even when it, was, thanks for remembering me, mom, also your letter stated that Larry was in the Hospital. I do hope he is getting along OK. and that he doesn’t miss out on his school, and also his navy training that he has already been chosen for, he is going to go places in the Navy, as he is intelligent enough to go to some specialized training program and get a commission in the Navy. -2- In the card you sent Bob’s letter, he said he had a lump in his throat, and after reading it I had one also, it made me stop and think of the times we used to have, but now that is all a memory and we are now living and praying for the future, and I think we have all earned everything and the good times to come. I was glad to hear that you decided to buy dishes and the glasses with the money I sent to Mrs. Holzer I couldn’t think of anyone else to send it too, and I did want to get you something, and I just couldn’t think of anything else to do, so I am waiting to fulfill your invitation -3- For that dinner when all of us get back home again which shouldn’t be too long, so don’t worry about me as I am OK. and I hope everyone at home is well and happy also. I am getting rather short on words, so I guess I will close this for now and drop Bob a few lines. I will send you some pictures of our beautiful women we have over here, so you will know and be able to see why I am as yet not married. Love Kenney The next time you write Bob send one of these pictures, as they are the only ones I have. K.
