Title:
Kenneth Dole to Folks
Date:
1944-08-02
Description:
To: Folks 1944_8_2 From: P.T. Kenneth Dole [1 page letter] Date: 1944-8-2 [Censor Stamp] To Mrs. Bina M. DOLE 1035 Maple St. Russell, Kansas From P.T. Kenneth D. Dole-37531283 2nd Port H.Q. T.C. A.P.O. 565 To/PM San Francisco, Cali. 8-2-44 Dear Folk’s: Not very much news, but I thought I would drop you a few lines anyway. I received a package today, the first since last May, I think I know why they haven’t been coming through, all that was left of this was a small box of cheese and a lot of powder, and some string that was tied and what was the remainer [sic] of a lot, I don’t know what was in the package when you mailed it but I have told you what I received, so check and see what was lost or borrowed by some one along the way I hope none of my films or [jam] or watch was in it, because if it was it’s gone, if you want to send me something again please send it in one of those round tin cans, that look like a cake can, and it at least won’t get ripped or torn, or even a small wooden box, because they really get a rough beating in the mail, I sure hated it because everything was gone but I guess couldn’t be helped so long for now [V-MAIL] Love Kenney- [Handwritten on the back] W.S.S.L.S.I. 72
