Dear Folk’s:
Don’t have a thing to do today and am going to try to get caught up on my letter writing, so will try to write a few lines to let you know that I am OK. and everything is a well [sic] as can be expected over here.
Haven’t heard from any of the family since the 2nd, but I know that all of you are so busy with you worries with Bob; and I do hope that I soon get his new address so I can write to him,

As I recall 2 years ago I was in Texas and mom [sic] was also there and we were waiting for my furlough, so I could go home for Thanksgiving I don’t think I will ever forget how happy I was to be going home, and having Mom there to be going home with I only wish I were getting ready now to go home so I could be there for Xmas but I know that I will not be able to make it this year, and there is no need of my telling you how much I hate to spend another Xmas

away from the family and all of the people at home, but I can say I am thankful for a lot of things and I know you would understand if I told you. The most important thing in my whole life will be when I am again home with all of the family, and as things look to me now I can make my own guess as to when I will be home and it looks to me now as though I won’t be home until April 46, if it is any sooner it will be nothing less than a miracle

that gets me there, still we have in this Base men with 80 pts, and actually they were suppose to be home the last part of Sept and the first of Oct. the at only reason they haven’t gone home is that there is no available transportation from here to the states, but surely something will happen soon so they will be able to get on their way.
Well I will close for now hoping to hear from you soon please give my regards to all.
Love
Kenney
