Description:
To: Folks 1945_12_10 From: Kenney [3 page letter] Date: 11-12-1945 Phillipines [sic] Cebu, Cebu Nov-12-45 Dear Folk’s: Have a few minutes before I go to work and will try t drop you a few lines, to let you know that I am getting along OK. and feeling fine, hope this finds you the same. Still these is very little activity around here, as this Base has been closed for almost two weeks, and I haven’t heard what they plan to do with the personell [sic] that is left here, however there are only 8,000 troops left in Cebu, I only hope that we can stay here, as I am tired of moving from one place to another, and Manila is so crowded now =Page 2= that you can hardly walk down the streets, and as far as going to Japan it doesn’t look as though they will send us there. so [sic] I won’t know a thing until, they tell us, but will let you know the minute orders come out, which very likely won’t be vey [sic] soon By the way those Jap rifles that I was going to send to you will have to wait for a few days as they won’t except them for mailing, but will let you know the day that I send them to you, I don’t know how soon it will be but I know they will start sending them before too long. I was very glad to hear that Larry was out, I =Page 3= wish I were home now to see all of the boys that have returned, also read on the papers that Ray Beck was home, when you see him please give, Ray my best regards. Haven’t heard anything about Bob as yet and do hope that I soon get his address so I can drop him a few lines, let me know all you can about Bob as I haven’t heard any news for quite sometime. Well I must go to work now so will say so long and you can expect another short note soon. Love Kenney
