Dear Folk’s:
Have it is Runkie’s [sic] birthday and I still haven’t been able to find any-thing to send him, but I did write Sis a letter and I hope she has it by this time.
I am feeling just fine and getting along OK. hope this finds all of you the same, jus came back from breakfast, we had French toast fresh Eggs [sic], bacon, coffee, so you can see for yourself we are getting fed pretty good.
I wrote to a Bob last night, so I can at least say I have written to someone, I haven’t written to you for quite sometime and I knowy [sic] you must think I am getting careless about writing, but I do hope you understand the situation, and bear with me, I promise myself to write to you, and when it comes time to write, there is always something that comes up, and my letter writing is just put off until later, but I will in the future try to write at least every 3 or 4 days, and more if at all possible so let’s [sic] hope you will be hearing from me more often in the future.

I am very sorry to have to tell you this, but I cracked the crystal on my watch, but don’t worry as I am having it fixed now, and it should be done soon, the boy I told you about being a jeweler is making a crystal, and he really does a good job.
I haven’t heard from you for quite sometime, but I know why and it isn’t that you haven’t written, but by the time you reach this, figure from the date this was written and the day it reaches you, and see if you have heard any news. I am still waking at night, and suppose to sleep in the day but lately it has been so hot, it has really been a job trying to sleep, however the rainy season should start soon and then it will be cooler, at least I hope so.
Well folk’s [sic] I will close for now, and I hope you have been able to read this, please say hello to all and give them my regards, so long for now and I will try to write to you again soon.
Love Kenney
