July 23, 1944 Dear Folk’s: I have enough time now to drop you a few lines so here goes for the news from this Part [sic] of the world, which is very little to my knowledge, but I could probably tell you plenty, and someday soon I hope I will be able to, it is very warm here as well, and it rains practically every day, but you get so use to it you don’t mind at least I don’t, still haven’t heard a thing about my watch but am looking for it any day now, I was wondering about the camera and film that I asked you about sometime ago, can you send me one, if so I would appreciate it very much and then I could send you some pictures, I haven’t heard from you for about four days now but I hope to soon I better close for now so keep on writing and I will do my best to answer you .
