Dear Folk’s & Sis:
Just came back from chow and I have a few minutes so I thought I would drop you a few lines to let you know I am feeling OK. Haven’t had a letter for a few days, but I suppose it was held up somewhere along the way, it has been raining here for the last few days without a let up, and it is really muddy, even inside my tent the mud is about 6 inches deep, I hope it quits soon so I can dry some clothes, I heard that the Allies have invaded France but don’t know whether it is true or not I only hope it is so, because when we have German licked we can knock the Japs for a loop over here, I hope it is all over soon so I can get back home and tell you all about it, I think I can tell you now the name of the Boat I came over on, it was the U.S.S. Hermitage a large troop transport.

As far as news from this end there is very little at least none that I know of at present, don’t know how long I will be here may be leaving any time and I may be here for two more month’s, well there isn’t a thing for that I can think of so I will close for now hoping to hear from you soon, [sic] I will write whenever possible. so [sic] long for now.
Love Kenney
