To: Mom & Dad 1944_1_5 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 1-5-1944 15 [sic]-44 Dear Mom & Dad: I received a letter from you today that was mailed two week’s ago, also a letter from Bob, and a letter from Larry C. and a letter from Ethel, and also a cartoon [sic]of Cigarettes so at least I got some of my back mail, I suppose you are wondering my now where I am, well, that’s just about all you can do, as I am not able to tell you where I am, But don’t worry about me as I feel fine, and am getting along fine, about all I can tell you is that I am somewhere on the west coast and that’s all. I had my picture taken and you should have it before along, I never got to see it but I hope it is ok. So a [sic] soon as you get it let me know how it turned out, Page 2 Also I bought you and Norma J. a present, it was about all I could find, I am going to try to find something for Dad, if I can, also I bought myself a $50.00 Bond, and I am sending it home so put it away for me, I suppose you wonder where I got all the money well I was pretty lucky last pay Day [sic] so you know, you sent me $40.00 & I got paid 10.00 and the rest I won well there is a lot I could tell you but I am sorry I cannot, so please don’t worry about me.
