Dear Folk’s:
Well I finally took time enough to drop you a line. The rest of the boys are at chow but I wasn’t hungry so I decided not to eat. We really got some bad news, yesterday. Here it is – instead of twelve week’s Basic we are going to have “17” week’s. They didn’t say why it was changed, but they just told us we would be here 17 weeks, so now I have 13 week’s left instead of only seven. It looks like I am going to spend part of the winter in Texas, Bob got your package Sunday & I went over to get my share of it. Those cookies were really delicious. some more heavy Wool sox, they keep my feet from getting so many blisters. Yesterday I had K.P. & today we are going on a hike they are really starting to keep us busy, as it is a little cooler here now. The way my Basic is now I should spend Thanksgiving at home if I get a furlough & they said we would & it will be 14 days instead of five days. Well I must close for now as it is time to go back to work. Thank’s a lot mom for the package & the money.
The way you handled the money I sent home is ok.
