Dear folk’s:
Well I got a letter from you today, it really made me feel good. I think I am going to like it betl better here than I thought. I am getting used to the heat, but not the chow. I am going to write Harold a letter tonight. I also got a letter from Gloria & Donna it is the first mail I have received here, when you send a letter send it air mail because it only takes one day and the other way it takes from five to six days. When I get a little time I will go over and see bob, a [sic] soon as I can, he really enjoys seeing us boys from Russell. There isn’t much I can write about as I am really tired we marched all day and on top of that we had a good old dust

storm and the sand hit you in the face and did it ever sting, our next march is seven miles in one hour so you can see we really are getting a basic training and then a four mile in 45 minutes we have 3 a week. I have K.P. again Sunday, and I am room orderly tomorrow. I have to make beds, scrub the floor, sweep it, and straighten all the shelves, and then I go out and march so they keep me plenty busy but I really a like to work as it takes my mind off everything else, and the time goes plenty fast, it won’t be long now and I can come home I hope, tell dad to get another “car” before I get home. a Buick will do – or a chrysler. Well so long for now write soon.
Love tell everyone
Kenney hello
