Description:
To: Sisters & Larry 1943_7_17 From: Kenneth D. Dole [1 page letter] Date: 7-17-1943 Dear Sisters & Larry: Well, how is everyone around there [sic] I hope that they are well and happy, there isn’t really much for me to write about but I just thought I would drop you aa [sic] line or two I will have to hurry this up so excuse the errors, I am about ready to be shipped and I can’t tell you where I am going as I don’t know myself, but I can tell you where Bob was sent [sic] he was shipped to Barkley, Texas [sic] I found out through the post office here, Barkley has something to do with Medical school or at least Medical training but you can’ t [sic] tell anything about what he will be put into till [sic] you hear from him [sic] I just thought I would let you know where he had been sent too, I am still working in the office here, but it’s hard to tell what I will be doing next week at this time [sic] I really think that I am going to like the Army if it is anything like it is here, the fellows here are really swell, and they treat you like you were a human being, well I still haven’t written anything worth read-ing but at least you can’t say you haven’t heard from me, drop me a line it won’t cost you very much, say does Larry know when he will have the opportunity to get another furlough, [sic] if he does please tell me and I can go to work and try to figure out a way to get one [sic] I know one thing about this Army if you know the right people you can get anything you want so I think I will get around and learn to know the right people. I will write soon so take care of everything, [sic] Love to all: Pvt. Kenneth D. Dole
