Title:
Kenneth Dole to Bob
Date:
1945-07-28
Description:
To: Bob 1945_7_28 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 7-28-1945 [Eagle Insignia United States Army] =Phillipines= [sic] July-28-45 Dear Bob: Received mom’s [sic] letter of the 18thand was very glad to hear your are getting along OK, of course by the time this short notes reaches you I sincerely hope that you are feeling your old self again and are about ready to go home, at least for a few days as I knew [sic] it is just what you need to put you back on your feet, please eat all you can so you can get back some of the weight you lost when you were so ill, your have to go some now to catch me as I am growing up to be quite a big boy now that last time I got weighed I topped the scales at 192 lbs [Eagle Insignia United States Army] -Page-2- Saturday 1930 hrs. I will admit that some of it isn’t quite as solid as a rock; but I can trim myself down to about 180 and that is about all I would care to carry around. You just keep eating and drinking those malts and you can get back to that 196 of yours. Well Bob I really don’t have a lot to say and I think you know where I am, so please don’t worry about me, let’s get those army arms of yours working again so I can hear from you again as you really write the kind of letters a fellow needs when here, well Bob I must close for now, so until tomorrow, take it easy. So Long for Now-Kenney “over” [back of page 2] This small souvineer [sic] is American invasion money from Okiwawa [sic] value in American money “1¢.”
