Title:
Kenneth Dole to Mom and Dad
Date:
1943-12-12
Description:
To: Mom & Dad 1943_12_12 From: Kenney [3 page letter] Date: 12-12-1943 I received your letter last night, so I thought I would drop you a few lines to let you know how I am getting along. I haven’t done very much since I have been back one day of K.P. and then guard duty, on KP. that day I peeled 3 spuds & slipped out the back door & my K.P. was all over, & then when I was on guard duty the sarge put me in the kitchen to keep the fires going - & about all I did was drink milk & eat cake, so you can see just what I have done since I got back. over I was sure glad to hear that bob got to go to school, the boys in our company who went for the same thing (ASTP) came back yesterday and not very many made it, they told me that they relieved Bob on guard duty at Maxey. I was glad that he got to talk to them. Well I don’t have much to write about, But I think we will be leaving here the 15th of Dec. I don’t know where we are going but don’t worry about it, I will let you know as soon as I find out. About Xmas I don’t know what to do, I don’t need anything, and we are not Page 2 allowed to go to town, because of shipping orders, and as yet I haven’t had the chance to do any shopping, but I am going to do some soon as we will be leaving and then I can do some shopping so you will hear from me soon. Love Kenney Dad: I may get to see a good football game if we get shipped soon enough. – Ernie is still here.
