Dear Mom & Dad & Sis:
Just a few lines to let you know I am O.K. There isn’t a lot to write about as I cannot tell you very much that goes on around here, but please don’t worry about me. I hope they haven’t sent Bob over yet and also I hope he got his furlough you were talking about. We will get paid pretty soon but I cannot spend a cent here so I will send it home & you can spend it or put it in the bank.
I still don’t know about my stripes they haven’t said a thing, but I have changed my address, over here it doesn’t make a lot of difference and I would rather be a pvt. So long [V MAIL] for now. Love
