To: Folks 1944_10_21 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 10-21-1944 New Guiena Oct. 21, 44 Dear Folk’s: Here goes again for a few short lines before I go to chow, I just came back from the other end, which you probably don’t know anything about, but I happen to run into Gene Huttie [sic] didn’t get to talk to him very long but he look’s [sic] about the same as when I last saw him we are going to try to get together some way if at all possible, hope I get to see him before he leaves, we have a lot of boys here from Kansas, and besides them a lot of boys who came from Ft. Riley, and they have been all over the state, two of them were at Russell the time they were there, or do you remember [sic] I received your letter today the first in about 8 days, but I know the reason why it is so slow. -2- I think I told you about my watch, but I should have it back soon, hope you get the pictures that Frank sent to you, you see he had them developed so he wanted to send them, and I told him it was OK. with me, I know this letter won’t reach you in time for Norma’s birthday but all I can do is say “happy birthday sis” and hope to be back with you again soon, I will close for now as I have to get my chow, so long for now and please give all my regards.
