To: Folks 1944_9_14 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 9-14-1944 Sept. 14, 44 Dear Folk’s: Received a letter from you today, and I will answer it right away, I haven’t written as often as I promised you I would, but I do my best believe me, also I received a letter from Rev. Jenkins he was in Colorado at the time on his annual vacation, I am going to answer his letter as soon as I finish this one to you. As yet I haven’t heard anything about my wrist watch but hope to soon, I rec [sic] a package last week from Glady’s I believe I told you about it, it made the third package I had received from the time I left the states, don’t know what happened to the rest, but I imagiane [sic] they went to Davie Jones, they must have or I know I would have them by now, You keep asking me for some hint about where I am at the present, well I practically told you in one of my previous letters, do you remember when I was telling you about not getting paid, and then I said if I got paid, what type of money I would be paid in, but I can’t figure [Page 2] Out about this Sarong business you keep telling me, if there is a connection I’m sure I don’t know, of any that would give you a lead, but it’s about the same In [sic] another letter I was telling you not to look at the top of everything and surely you don’t want to look at the bottom, they always told me to look, and act as though I was in the middle, if this is too confusing please let me know and I may be able to break it down somewhat, but I doubt it very much, not anything new from here at least none that I know of at the present, but I am feeling just fine and am getting along OK, I will close for now Hoping to hear from you soon, will try to write more often in the future.
