This means (White) (Paper) [characters] [side note] Dad: Try a good Jap Cigarette South West Pacific July, 26, 1944 Dear Folk’s: Here goes a few lines I don’t have very much time to write as it is getting rather late and I must get some sleep. The wheather [sic] here is about the same as usual, it very seldom changes, I was wondering whether you ever sent my foundation pen, as I have to borrow one every time I want to write a letter and I don’t like to very well although the boys don’t mind but I would like to have my own I know you understand, oh yes about my wrist watch I still haven’t heard anything about it but hope too [sic] very soon. I owe so many letters I can’t sleep night’s [sic] but honestly I just can’t possibly find enough time to write to everyone like I would and should so give all my regards and I will try to write to them, if you want to send me something send me Cigarettes [sic] I know you will be shorted at this request but we can’t get them here, and when we can in the future we will have to pay for them and you know as I have told you I haven’t been paid for some time so please send some cigarettes and cigars if you can buy them, well I must close hope you are all well & happy. write [sic] soon.
