Title:
Kenneth Dole to Folks and Norma
Date:
1944-05-24
Description:
To: Folks & Norma 1944_5_24 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 5-24-1944 5-24-44 Dear Folk’s & Norma: Just a few more lines to let you know that I am feeling fine and getting along hope this finds all of you the same. I was very happy to receive a letter from Norma, by the way norma [sic] I would appreciate a photograph of you as I don’t have one of you. Today I was down to the Creek to do my washing I have to do washing about every two days or it piles up on me, and I hate to wash, when I get home I can show mom how I used to wash my clothes. Mom you asked me about my mail, I suppose by now you have rec. some of those V mail letters, and they aren’t so hot and air mail is just as fast, so I would appreciate hearing from you by air mail and I will try to do the same. Page 2 [several underlines] I hope you understand and I am sure you do, it’s not that I don’t appreciate hearing from you, but you can tell so much more in a regular letter. I hope you rec. the two small snap – shots that I sent you, they were the only two I have in my “fatigues” and I wanted to be sure you got to see them. Do you Remember how bob Bob used to work in the back yard with his weight’s, well me and two other fellows made us some weight’s so we would have something to do in our spare time. I hope the garage turns out ok. and I hope I am able to get home soon to see it, and also to drive that new car, well that’s about all for now so I will close hoping to hear from all of you soon. Love Kenney
