To: Folks 1943_10_16 From: Kenney [2 page letter] Date: 10-16-1943 10-16-43 Dear Folk’s: I received your box last night and everything arrived in good condition and everything is really swell. I put some of those pictures in that folder you sent it is really li nice I have it on my shelf, there isn’t anything to write about except the 25 miler we had wasn’t so bad as we went slow and I made it ok. Today we start wearing our O.D.’s, mine fit ok. Bob & I will try to have some pictures taken in town, we have another big hike this week on Wedneesd Wednesday, but I was lucky. I have K.P. Wed. so I will miss it. week [sic] after next we have bivouac for 16 days so it will be over before long and then I might over be lucky enough to get a furlough, it will be just luck if I do, the basic isn’t tough any more as I am used to it the hardest thing here for me is to get out of bed in the morning, it is getting cold here, we have a fire most of the time. Bob & Ernie & I are going to a show this afternoon, w if you want to I could use about $10.00 to by [sic] a Garrison hat & a belt and maybe a pair of gloves, I don’t want to spend any more than I have to as I may need it for a furlough. - I hope – Well be careful and take care of everything, hope Russell wins all the games they both are doing ok.
