Dear folk’s:
Well I Bob got your box last night and everything was in good condition, and the chicken was ok. we put the jars in a bucket with som [sic] water in it in the stove until the water was hot and then we ate it, those pickled eggs were really ok. too, none of these guys here ever heard of pickled eggs and they are going to have their wives & mothers make them some. Melvin got a lucky break and is
over
leaving Wed. for dentil tec. School, the way he got it they pulled cards and he was lucky enough to get to go, and Ernie was called for A.S.T.P. a college but he won’t leave till after Basic it looks like I will be a litter bearer after all. You can’t tell I might get a I might get a break, I hope so. Bob, Mel, Ernie and I went to town today we went to the show, & ate fried chicken & steakes [sic] we had a good time but it cost plenty as everything is so high. Well I better close for now I will write you soon, thank’s again for the box mom we really enjoy them. Dad send me another/ Love Kenney
